The Covid-19 vaccine makes us hopeful of travelling in the future. And more people are considering the idea of going somewhere alone. But if you are unsure how to start, check out our three tips on how to make the best of your solo trips!

Travelling goes hand in hand with a sense of adventure, and according to 2020 Condor Ferries research, 40% of Baby Boomers went on vacation on their own last year. However, if don’t feel like you’re ready for that, don’t worry - here is some advice that can help you!

Susan McPherson, 56, started travelling solo after she turned 50 and has been to destinations including Bali, Antarctica, and French Polynesia. And she was kind enough to share her most important tips with us!

1. Look for travel agencies that offer trips or expeditions. That is how Susan started with her trip to Antarctica. “If you are nervous to fly on your own and land somewhere new, that could be a perfect way to start,” she says.

2. If you are just starting out, you don’t have to go very far. “Maybe there is an amazing place three hours away from your home, or you could take a long weekend retreat to the countryside,” Susan suggests.

3. Lastly, remember that alone does not mean lonely! “I made so many friends because people would see me alone and come up and start talking,” Susan admits. “So, that was the big learning experience from all my travels.”
