You might not know his name, but if you’ve ever eaten a McNugget, you’ve got him to thank. Ray turned a local eatery into the internationally renowned brand McDonald’s at the age of 52.

This former economics professor quit the day job in his 50s and created his dream real estate empire in Tokyo, Japan. In 1991, Forbes ranked him the richest man in the world.

It wasn’t until Pulp Fiction came along that the world really met a 46-year-old Samuel. After nearly 5 decades playing ‘gang member number 2’, Mr Jackson is now considered one of the most popular actors of his generation.

The Birmingham-born author didn’t actually publish a book until she was 53. Over the following 20 years, however, she wrote 15 novels, four short story collections and some non-fiction. And all this while soaking up the sun in Australia.
