Talent is Timeless is a song-writing and producing competition for the over 50s. The competition is here to show that age isn’t a barrier, especially when it comes to our passions.

The brainchild of British folk artist Saskia Griffiths-Moore, the competition was created to challenge age discrimination in the music industry. The idea was conceived during the second UK lockdown and started as a way for Saskia to connect with her fans, who are predominantly over 50.

The panel of judges to decide the final winner include Ian Matthews (Kasabian), Tony Moore (Iron Maiden) and Micky Blue. Saskia exclusively tells Fifty: “I began asking my industry connections if they wanted to get involved and everywhere I went I got a resounding YES!”

She continues: “There are lots of people in the industry who passionately feel that getting older doesn't make you less relevant, and that we ought to prove it with this competition.”

Everyone who has made the shortlist can expect a prize of a one-day song writing course. The winner gets 10 sought-after prizes, including a record deal and a recording session at Abbey Road Studios.

Saskia’s advice to anyone over 50 trying to make it in music or the industry?

“Art is always a worthwhile endeavour, and I believe there is nothing as important as keeping your creative flame alive.”

The winner will be announced on the 28th of March. For more information head to: https://www.talentistimeless.com/
